Merry Christmas, love the roomies

Ever since I first began photography, I have been fascinated by the power of lights. White lights, colored lights, big lights, sunlight... Its light more than anything that makes a photograph interesting.

If you think about it, humans have always been fascinated by light . In fact, in some parts of the world, like Thailand and India, there are whole festivals devoted to light (some of which I would pay big bucks to see for myself!).

Personally, I'm more inclined to like strings of lights, and candles, and colored lights... think the type of things that you would normally see around the holidays.

With Christmas around the corner and exams drawing to a close, I decided to wrap my roommates up in some Christmas lights for a mini-photo session of creative christmas portraits.

Here's some of my best shots:

Queens of the Capital

I know, I know. I should be better about writing and keeping you guys involved in my work. I apologize. Finals, end of semester business, and graduation this semester have kept me from blogging as much about my photographs as I would like.

Well, remember that awesome photo project I was working on for my photojournalism class? Here's the final result!

Its called "Queens of the Capital" and is a look into the drag culture in and around the D.C. area. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
